A MAN is in hospital after being shot in the leg on playing fields.
The 25-year-old has been walking through Cringle Fields, Burnage, when he heard a man shout, he felt a bang and felt a pain in his leg.
He ran away and went to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he has been treated for a gunshot wound in his upper right leg.
He arrived at hospital at 8.20pm on Saturday and is now said to be in a stable condition.

I thought the police were getting on top of gun crime.
It's alright them cracking down on cannabis farms and blowing their own trumpets, but with gun crime they couldn't blow a penny whistle. How many people have been charged in the last two weeks with gun related offences? Not many.
