A MAN has been charged with murder following a stabbing in Withington on Wednesday.

Kevin Geoffrey Flynn, 34, of Whinberry Road, Broadheath was due before magistrates today.

Police were called to St Brendan's Road North in Withington at 9.30pm on Wednesday after reports a man had been stabbed at a house in the street.

The injured man was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary but pronounced dead on arrival. He has not yet been formally identified.

A 56-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has since been released without charge and a 27-year-old arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until February 15 pending further inquiries.
