OK not all the programmes work - but I really like their News bulletins. Andy Crane and the Channel M reporters are refreshingly informative, entertaining & down-to-earth. Not the usual middle-class, sarcastic, sneering types we come to expect from the BBC etc. They're always out there on the streets too - and I like the way Channel M has discovered & promoted fresh new talent! People we haven't seen before - except for that "dreaded" BBC Radio Manchester lot that is! Yes, if there's one main criticism I have of of Channel M - it's why they take on all those BBC RADIO MANCHESTER presenters?
BBC Radio Manchester is the only dedicated news & sport radio station in Manchester - yet is a dismally failing station with no track record of discovering new talent. Yet amazingly nobody gets sacked and they all seem to get offered "even more" jobs & opportunities in the Manchester media industry. Its "matey" employment practises - reek of cronyism & nepotism.
So keep finding & promoting "fresh new" talent Channel M - and please, no more of those BBC presenters! (Except maybe for Jack Dearden, who is exceptional.)

It's fresh and focused on local issues. And, it's approachable and amenable, insofar as a call to the news desk often results in a camera crew being allocated to a story of genuine local interest. Keep it up!
(I have no links to the 'Station', but have experienced their aspiring professionalism.)
