BOXER Amir Khan was due in court today after a jury was sworn in for his trial on a charge of dangerous driving.

Khan, 20, of Lostock, was in an accident last year with pedestrian Geoffrey Hatton, 55, who suffered a broken leg. Khan was driving his BMW convertible in Bolton town centre.

The Commonwealth lightweight champion appeared at Bolton Crown Court yesterday dressed in a black suit and black pinstripe shirt.

He denies dangerous driving in Bradshawgate on March 2, last year.

Prosecutor Alaric Bassano is due to open the case for the Crown today.
