A PENSIONER has died four days after he was hit by a van being pursued by police.
The 70-year-old man was crossing Chester Road in Stretford when he was hit. His injuries were initially not believed to be life-threatening, but his condition deteriorated.
Police say the Ford Transit was being driven on the wrong side of the road and a marked police vehicle began following it.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and on suspicion of dangerous driving. A 22-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. Both men have been bailed.
