The first UK version of the High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV, pronounced Humvee), also known as HUMMER

IT'S the ultimate boy's toy - but it would take some wrapping . . .

The first right-hand-drive version of the Hummer goes on sale today.

And to mark its arrival, a 4x4 was delivered to a London toyshop in an enormous toy box which took three weeks to make.

David Beckham and Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho are believed to own one of the 4x4 cars.

The High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle - also known as Humvee - was designed nearly 30 years ago for the US Army as the ultimate go-anywhere car.

Hummer's Jonathan Nash said: "Hummer is like no other - it's the ultimate boy's toy."

The Hummer H3 is on sale from £26,495.

I have a neighbour - he's American, which explains a lot(!!!) - has a 'Hummer', and the closest that ever goes to nodding towards 'off-road', is when he bumps it up the kerb.

A total waste of resources - not to mention, money. (Before the 4 x 4 apologists claim I'm 'jealous', I own a vehicle infinitely more expensive and certainly more practical.)

Considering our so called government wants us all to be more responsible ? and we see these monsters being sold.What is the point of a monster like this people who buy these monsters should really be the people who set a better example to our kids "Footballers and the likes" But thinking about it theres not many footballers with brains enough to think like that.Make them socially unacceptable, like drink driving.Insurance on monsters like this should be through the roof because of the damage they do if in a accident and the fuel they use...madness to say the least.

Didn't they waste resourses making your "infinitely more expensive" vehicle?.

Proof that having money doesn't mean you have taste. I tend to think that men who want to own one of these probably also have a yen for big dogs and guns - know whadda mean!

Just like all the dynos, they evolve .they get smaller and more efficiant just like the dinosauers they died out because they were so big and clumsey and they had to eat a lot to keep going. So stop buying into this old technology and come into the 21st century . stop trying to look 1960s cool it dosnt work lads you look outdated in your large hummers etc ..i bet you all watch the old starskey and hutch videos? wishing for the days of big caddys and furry dice to come back into fashion?? you muppets....

I think we should only be able to drive cars made by a state owned manufacturer and they should all be the same colour - grey.
