WHEN Aaron Ainsley bought a German Shepherd puppy, the breeder suggested he call her Naughty.
Within 24 hours he knew exactly why.
The 12-week-old pup he had bought for £350 ran from a friend's house and got stuck in iron railings.
Nothing would prise her free so Aaron, who had eventually called his new dog Sasha, called the fire brigade.
Fire fighters had to use hydraulic spreaders normally used in car wrecks to push apart the railings and free the little dog.
The drama at Pulgrave Avenue in Monsall, Manchester, was over in 10 minutes.
Aaron, 20, who recycles palettes, said: "I bought her off a breeder in Tyldesley and they called her Naughty. Now I know why."
Panicking
He added: "She could have died. She was trying to squeeze her head out and she was pushing really hard. But she's only a baby and she was panicking. I grabbed hold of her and phoned the fire brigade. How she got her head through there I don't know.
"I'd gone up to my mate's house and I was in there two minutes and came out and saw her head was stuck between the fencing. It was stuck fast. The fire brigade were here in no time and they got some hydraulic equipment in the fencing and that was it.
"If it wasn't for the fire fighters and their expertise I don't know what would have happened. I thought it being a dog they would not be bothered but they were really fast and I was happy.
"I have taken her to Manchester Dogs' Home and they've checked her over. She's fine. "
Warren Beech, crew manager at Blackley Fire Station, which came to the rescue, said: "She was fine. She didn't even bite."

My new resolution -- being non-judgemental to all. Even Lisa M. It's going to be hard.
