STARS paid tribute to Shayne Ward at a glittering showbiz bash in his honour at the weekend - and our photographers were there to capture it all.

Shayne, from Clayton, became the youngest-ever recipient of the outstanding contribution award from showbusiness charity The Variety Club when he picked up the gong during an emotional night at the Palace hotel on Saturday.

The event, hosted by Key 103 breakfast show hosts Mike Toolan and Chelsea Norris, also raised more than £20,000 for charity, which supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children.

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT AND SHAYNE REALLY DESERVED ALL THE PRAISE HE GOT. HIS PERFORMANCE WAS FAB AND,AS EVER, HE LOOKED GORGEOUS.
HE IS A GENUINE PERSON AND HE WAS LOVELY WITH HIS FANS. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SINGLE & ALBUM!!!!

Hi there,
I attended the Variety Club bash last night in tribute to Shayne Ward and it was absolutely fantastic!! I wasn't really a fan of his until last night, I took my friend who is. Anyway, the evening was very eventful, Mike & Chelsea were fab hosts and very, very nice people. I was fortunate to chat to them both & I felt like I'd known Chelsea for years!!! So lovely & so small!! I was also privileged in meeting Louis Walsh who was also a lovely man. One of the bodyguards actually stopped my friend & I from meeting him and sent us away - but - we walked the long way round unseen & back to Louis's table where we stopped & asked to have our photo taken with him and he was lovely about it, he said 'I'll sign and do anything!'. That was lovely! We were on the very back table so I approached Shayne explaining that I couldn't take a decent photo & he didn't mind me taking a close up pic of him which again was lovely. Alot of money was raised for charity & I'm sure Shayne will have been proud with the success of the evening. Unfortunately, my bag was taken with all the Shayne memorabilia from the evening in & most upsetting, my camera. Fortunately, I have the memories which will be carried around with me forever. I just want to wish Shayne good luck with his future & can't wait to see him again soon! Clare, Cheshire

hi bobbie from manchester here i went ot the event last night and it was amazing i was lucky enough to meet both shayne and faye and my mum was also one f the two people who bid and won the chance to spend the day with shayne andi cnt wait it will be amazing b-day present so il c u then shayne :)

What a night,it was fabulous to see Shayne get such an award! He really does deserve teh award and the praise that he got last night,he was really busy from the moment he arrived at the hotel on Saturday and would probably have liked to just go and spend some time with Faye but being the nice guy that he is he took time to speak to the fans that were in reception, myself and my daughter were in reception and although Paul was trying to hurry him along he took time to stop and speak amd allow us to have a photo taken with him. This made our weekend as we have bben to his tour and travelled to North Wales to see him 2 weeks ago but hadn't managed to actually meet him and say hi! So thanks Shayne you made the trip from Scotland well worth it! We had a fab time a very entertaining evening and good to see so much money raised for charity too. Well done Shayne you will always have our support x x

The night was amazing and the Grand Room was beautifully decorated. Shayne was fantastic and so 'normal'. He took time to acknowledge everyone and spoke to anyone who approached him. His voice and vocal range are phenominal. Thanks to Variety Club for an excellent evening and good luck to Shayne fro his two new singles and forthcoming album.

My wife and I were lucky enough to attend the Shayne Ward Variety club award night
Shayne was a true professional throughout the night and was happy to have pictures taken and sign autographs.
I admired Louis Walsh as he was'nt able to have a moments piece even during the meal.Fans were lining up to have pictures taken with him constantly. But he was more than happy to oblige.
The perfect end to the night had to be Shayne's singing performance on the stage.
He's back and better than ever.
We left The Palace Hotel happy to of shared this Special night with Shayne.

Hey marc I just woke up from a horrible dream, I was surrounded by a load of half cut orange coloured people.
It was frightening.
Must have had a bad pint last night.

No marc,definitly no green hair, but some of em were quite proud of their big orangy cheasts. There are some pickies here somewhere, have a look, let me know what you think.
