ACTOR and comedian John Thomson was all smiles as he donated £10,000 to two Manchester charities.
The Didsbury TV star won the money on the celebrity version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? - appearing on the show two weeks ago with fellow funny man and impressionist Jon Culshaw.
The pair walked away with £20,000 and John split his share two ways, with £5,000 each to the Francis House Children's Hospital and the Catholic Children's Rescue Society - the charity from where he was adopted as a child.
John is currently filming with Stephen Fry in Norfolk but returned to Manchester to present the charities with cheques.
