BOXING legends didn't pull their punches at Ryan Giggs' charity fundraiser.
The Manchester United star's sportsman's dinner raised £20,000 for Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
There were a host of legends at Old Trafford, including former WBC world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno.
Sixties ring legend turned Christian evangelist Earnie Shavers, who preached in Manchester during the 2002 Commonwealth Games, was also seated at the top table.
He was joined by middleweight hero Alan Minter and Runcorn super middleweight Robin Reid.
Dig deep
Former light heavyweight champ John Conteh urged the audience to dig deep for an auction of sporting memorabilia. Mementoes up for grabs included a Brazil shirt signed by Pele and a Manchester United shirt signed by the team.
A question-and-answer session between the stars and audience rounded off the night, which brought the hospital a step closer to the Five Stars Scanner Appeal's £1m target.
The money will go towards an MRI scanner to help sick youngsters from across the north west.
The appeal's next big event is a Gangsters and Molls-themed evening on board the Orient Express on September 21.

If however he wanted a party, then have a party.
MEN - please don't report this rubbish. It will only propagate move events of similar non-consequence to occur in the name of publicity.

If Paul had even taken the time or the effort to understand what Tuesday evening's event was all about he might have realised that Ryan, as a patron of the Five Stars Appeal, was fronting a charity fund raising event. The Five Stars Appeal is raising £1m for a scanner for the new Children's Hospital currently being built in Manchester.
He certainly isn't 'throwing a party'. He is putting his name to a fabulous charity who work extremely hard to ensure the new scanner can be bought for the hospital. This new scanner will dramatically improve the chance of children surviving cancer.
Ryan, as do all the 'five stars' linked with the charity give up their own personal time to visit the hospital and spend time with the children suffering from cancer. Paul - do you have the time or the inclination to do this???????
So Paul, next time you feel the urge to make a comment about an article, may I suggest you choose to make it upon a subject you know something about.
