A GRANDMOTHER has spoken of the terrifying moment she found a shooting victim in her kitchen pleading: `Help me, I'm dying'.
The shocking scene unfolded after a gunfight in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, on Saturday afternoon.
One man, 24, was shot in the arm and torso and another, also 24, was hit in the neck after a gun exploded in his hand behind Wadeson Road on the Brunswick estate.
The men are being treated at separate hospitals and it is understood both are under police protection.
The 62-year-old grandmother-of-10 told the M.E.N. she had been chatting to a neighbour outside her home when they heard `two loud bangs'.
A couple of seconds later the women heard three other bangs, and, fearing the noises might be gunshots, they ran into the gran's kitchen. A `tall black male' was standing in the room, bleeding heavily from his neck. It is thought he ran through the woman's open front door in fear of his life after being shot.
The grandmother, who was too frightened to be named, said: "He said, `help me, I'm dying'.
Screaming
"I started screaming at him to get out, but when I saw how badly injured he was I tried not to panic and told him the police and ambulance were on their way. He was spurting blood everywhere."
The injured man staggered out of the house before collapsing on the front lawn.
She added: "The whole time I was absolutely petrified, but I couldn't let somebody's son die. There was blood all the way up my hallway, on my leather suite, my coffee table, kitchen floor and carpet, even the fridge. I keep seeing him in my kitchen, the image won't leave me and I can't sleep."
The woman's son dashed over from his nearby home after hearing the commotion. He applied some pressure to the man's wound after finding him writhing in agony on the grass.
The man, 38, said: "I was very afraid for my mum and for my own safety in case whoever shot him came back to finish him off. When he took his hand away the wound looked really bad and I pressed it to try and stem the bleeding. I felt like we were in a war zone when I saw him lying there."
The woman's 36-year-old daughter said: "Nobody offered my mum any support or help cleaning up. I'm annoyed because my mum was also a victim yesterday and should have received the appropriate support."
A female witness, 39, claimed a nearby property was raided by police shortly after the shooting.
An 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old man are being questioned on suspicion of firearms offences and attempted murder.

Troops on the street, excellent Forward with Frank, why dont you go live in North Korea or Thailand, it will save you waiting.

Another option is to refuse them medical assistance. Why should me National Insurance money be spent on their injuries/

are you saying that chorlton-on-medlock is a community of pioneering souls attempting to enrich the lives of themselves and their families by creating new ventures, building farms and houses, and wearing gingham?

We don't want our lives ruined by those that choose to lead these nasty lives, yet there seems to be a shooting every week if not more.
With troops on the streets, we could ensure that we are safe and that anyone caught is dealt with.
What is the alternative, just keep on hoping that they stop shooting people? Give the police new laws with the same man power? Let the government introduce new powers to deter them? Not a chance of any of that working.
Maybe it will also put a stop to this anti-social behaviour we are seeing the rise of too. I bet these little runts wouldn't try and nick off old granies if they knew the army could shoot them!
I don't want troops on the street forever, but right now there seems to be a lot of 'no go' areas and not just for civilians, but police too. If we can control the current problem, learn from the mistakes and figure out why it happened, we can hopefully make sure it doesn't happen again and get the troops off the streets!

Your solutions are the triumphant nazi policy of raiding any house they want, which Im pretty sure police can do anyway with a warrant.
Shoot to kill, the same policy of the gangs, which Im sure the police do anyway if confronted with a guy with a gun...its just a rare occurance as the police are never there.
And refusing medical assistance, yep Im pretty sure the gangs are rethinking their actions as we speak, due to them not being able to visit their GP!

My missus would have followed him around with a bucket and sponge.

Yes soldiers do get shot. If we carry on as we are then there will be more shootings, more deaths and we will still be having this debate in ten years time.
I really don't understand why some people on here are on the side of the gunmen and just shrug their shoulders and are apathetic to it all. We are not just talking about fisticuffs in a pub here we are talking about people being blasted to death on the streets of a developed countr and all you can say that we need to understand the gunmen better. I say get tough on them beacuse thewy obviously don't fear the law so send in the Army and get these killers off the streets. If they want to be tough guys then let them have it.
I would gladly join up and help out whether by hand to hand combat or bayonet.

My missus would'nt have followed him around with a bucket and sponge; she would have given him a bucket and sponge and would have ordered him to clear up his own bloody mess half dead or not.

Im not on the side of the gunmen, I try to be on the side of sense and not over reacting.
The safest countries are the Scandinavian ones, who employ the most namby pamby, do gooder, liberal policies of any nation. Those that employ the hard line policies tend to be the unsafe countries.
I just think it would make sense to see what the safest countries to, that this country doesnt.

This doesn't need to be a permanent measure but can go on for seven or eight years until the public feels safe again.

For all the freedoms that people have died for, people in this country would now give up all of that and place us in a facist military regime for the return of some temporary security!

Do gooders aren't the problem, its right wing nutters, who unfortunately make up half the population and most of Middle England, and therefore are 'voters' which need to be wooed by the government.
So any grass roots community work, which is proven to work, is held back in favour of putting everyone in prison, which make things worse, to please these middle england right wing, reactionary fools!

Let's take a look at Moss Side and Hulme. Virtually all of the high rise towers were razed to the ground and replaced with what looks like half decent housing. There are coimmunity centres, more sports pitches, basketball courts, sports centres per square mile there than there are anywhere else.
Man City did and still do put in a lot of community work there and what do we get? Gun violence worse than ever before.
Yes we should have some of these community projects but they do not and will not stop the slaughter on the streets. How many more deaths until liberalists accept that?
These thugs have not had any discipline in their lives and think themselves untouchable.
What is happening there is not normal so that is why we need unusual;t tactics. We need to rule with an iron fist and the government need to instill law and order. Right now whilst there are shootings going in we need the Army there. I for one would feel much safer.
I guarantee that whilst we have armoured Land Rovers stationed on evey steeet corner that these bicycling gungsters will not be the big men then.
If you don't want the Army there maybe we use one of the private security firms thta we have working in Iraq. Maybe they don't have to be so transparent in their methods in rubbing people out.
