Recognised as the benchmark for green spaces, the award is given to sites that are welcoming, safe and well maintained.
At the same time, Tatton, which boasts 1,000 acres of open parkland and 50 acres of gardens, was given Green Heritage Site accreditation, to mark its historical features and standard of conservation.
A park spokesman said: "We are delighted we are recognised as a green flag site."
