MOTORISTS can now see how the congestion charge could affect them by logging onto the MEN's interactive map.
Details of the possible charging bands in Greater Manchester and also the tariffs suggested by transport chiefs can be found by clicking
here
for a full interactive map.
Users can follow their own route into work from home to see which of the proposed charging zones they will enter.
We will keep the map updated as plans for congestion charging are modified over the coming months.

Is this mysterious 3rd ring included in the previously published £470 million capital cost? If so then why has the announcement of the 3rd ring been delayed?
If this 3rd ring is a quick fix compromise then how much will this add to capital and annual running costs?
The London scheme has made a grand total of £25 million in four years

'PICCADILLY Gardens and its adjoining bus station have been named among Britain's worst air quality blackspots.
Readings have shown some of the highest concentrations of the sooty particles linked to asthma and other breathing problems'
For £1200 per year on congestion tax each we can all look forward to this air quality all over the city.
I'm just off to invest shares in an asthma inhaler manufacturer.

They can not charge you for using the M60.
YET.
If come off it and go onside the M60 by mistake, that will be 2 pounds mate.
and to get back on it, to leave the outer zone, that will be 1 pound mate.
The M60 goes right though the middle of some area, you will get a clear cut between inside and outside the zone.
example, that little mini mart less than a mile from your house you used to vist that, is now just inside the zone, it will go bust because its just inside the zone, the out of town supermarket will get your money instead.

Reading an EU study done several years ago when they researched Congestion charges in several European cities.
One of the key recommendations of this report is that when trying to introduce and Congestion Charge, it is important to restrict the information being released to public as much as possible.
The reason is public opposition will increase the closer you get to the day of the charge.
AGMA/GMPTA and the GMPTE seem to be following this study in keeping the information deliberately vague.
Using it as blueprint, as it were.
To put it simply as possible, the lack of info is on purpose.

And Simon, they are just building more and more business premises! No doubt more will be built on the old Carborundum site. And the public transport through the park is not exactly good either. It seems (and I have seen this before elsewhere) that they have bought in all these new (ish) people who need to make a good impression on their peers by coming up with idea's that will generate the most revenue. Well we have news for them it doesnt work.

according to their bid website.
No mention of an exemption for city centre residents

But someone in one of the other news items someone was told by a councillor than there will be.
But these are the same people trying to sneak the third charging zone in, after they have done their yellow bus bus tour to gauge public opinion have been finished.
Simple question, do you trust these councillors to tell you the truth?

When I first heard about the congestion tax I put the brakes on it. However, Marc Ramsbotton (councillor) told me that city vcentre residents don't have to pay. Now, anything can change with the clowns trying to run the city but that was as of four weeks ago.
I travel out of the city every day to go to work and I am not willing to pay £1200 for the privelage.
I also don't want more buses in my city either because apparently Piccadilly Gardens is the second worst place in the UK for air polloution, caused by... buses, which they want us to use.
If I suffer chest compalints due to more buses in the city I shall be seeing these clowns in court.
