Award for M.E.N reporter

Neal Keeling

A MANCHESTER Evening News journalist has won a prestigious award for a string of exclusive stories.

Neal Keeling, who has been with the paper for 20 years, was named Reporter of the Year at the north west BNFL newspaper awards.

Neal, 48, has covered the Salford district for most of his career.

At the same ceremony, the M.E.N.'s health specialist Amanda Crook was runner-up for the young reporter award and Simon Donohue was runner-up in the feature writer category.

The Manchester Evening News was runner-up for the title of Newspaper of the Year and in a separate ceremony in London, was `highly commended' in the Newspaper of the Year category of the UK Press Gazette Regional Press Awards.
