BUDDING young reporters got to grips with the hot stories at Greater Manchester Youth Games.
The Young Reporters' Competition - backed by the Manchester Evening News - saw 12 youngsters aged between eight and 16 given a series of journalistic briefs.
They were asked to each write a piece about five key topics relating to the Youth Games - art and creativity, inspiring girls to take part in sport, sports provision and recruitment for disabled children, volunteering, and the Youth Games from a spectator's point of view.
Each piece was read by a panel of expert judges.
A gold award went to Michael Bergs. Keeley Jones won silver and Sophie Elliott bronze.
What do you think? Have your say.
