LANCASHIRE-style pies and puddings are proving a hit thousands of miles away in Canada.
Sheila Hughes and son Craig, who emigrated from Oldham to Burlington in Ontario 30 years ago, have set up a pie and pudding shop - and their products are going down a treat.
The family shop, Oldham Pies and Puddings, run by Craig, produces 5,000 pies a week using a home-town recipe.
When Bernard and Sheila Hughes left Limeside, Oldham, in 1976 with children Craig and Dawn, Sheila exported her talent for cooking mouth-watering pies. Two years ago she gave in to demands from friends and family to turn her skills into a business.
Varieties
The shop quickly took off, and is even decorated with Oldham Athletic FC shirts and colours as a reminder of home.
Craig, 35, said the shop had become famous across Canada and back home.
Sheila, 60, said: "You'd be amazed how many Oldhamers now live in Burlington."
The 14 pie varieties, from meat and potato to curried chicken, are also sold to supermarkets, bakeries and pubs all over Ontario.
Bernard died before the business was launched, but Sheila and Craig say he would have loved it.
They are now in talks with major national supermarkets about selling their pies and considering franchise offers.

Good Luck and I hope your success continues. If you were this side of this side of the border I would have you send me some.
