THE Upper Moseley Street incident

THE occupants of a Mercedes car had a miraculous escape after being involved in a crash with a tram.

The driver and three passengers were uninjured in the city centre incident.

Witnesses said the car, which was crossing Mosley Street near Manchester Art Gallery, was dragged along the road `like a tin can' before smashing into a sign and coming to a halt.

Police said the driver and 50 occupants of the tram were also unhurt.

The line was blocked for around an hour.

I can see how that would happen. Those trams are very hard to spot.

The tram system is so outdated it should not be used in the city centre. It should be for the outskirts only then passengers should change onto an overhead monorail system but as this would improve traffic flow the authorities never wanted it. (So Outdated).

mercs drivers eh.....probably thought he could make it across, cos those 80ft trams are difficult to spot, oh well here's hopin you get a hefty repair bill

Paul and VickH - people like you make me laugh. All you can think of is having a snipe at the make of car involved without any other information to hand.

I have to agree Orb, It's not the make of car,good and bad drivers can be found in or on anything with wheels!

They just pop up , they need a better set up .I went to town the other day , ihavent been for ages , But i was amazed at how easy it is to get mowwed down . Raymond
