SOME of the experts top tips for stopping smoking include:
* Have a plan. Set a quit date and get rid of your cigarettes in advance.
* Chose something to do to replace a cigarette - carry some water or juice to drink instead.
* Save the cash you would have spent on smoking and buy yourself a treat at the end of the week.
* Be aware that you will have cravings for nicotine and that they will fade if you resist them.
* Don't give up if you have given in once or twice.
* Tell someone your plan and get them to support you when you're struggling.

When considering giving up smoking however, usually the FIRST and ONLY method they reach for are Nicotine Replacement Products (patches etc) I urge smokers to look more deeply into the success rates of different smoking cessation methods - The success rate for NRT products varies between 4 - 8% (dependant on the study) but when you compare this to Hypnotherapy with up to a huge 95% success rate- it really is unfortunate that smokers are being misled by the drug companies who manifacture such NRT products.
