Hospitals told to observe religious rules

HOSPITALS should provide staff with clothing which allows them to observe their religious practices, doctors heard.

The British Medical Association conference in Manchester was told that, for example, the NHS could provide materials to make a "theatre hijaab".

A hijaab is worn by Muslim women to cover themselves, and in some cases can cover the whole face.

Delegates voted in favour that the BMA should campaign for developments which facilitate the religious practices of staff.

No im sorry i agree with robert the money should be spent on the actual hospital themselves . If these people feel the need to cover up then they should provide the clothing themselves for god sake hospitals will be issueing bibles & song sheets next . No spend the money on something more important like giving these hard working nurses a good wage instead of the pittance their on .

I think this has now got totally out of hand, it can only happen in this country. Put the money to good use i.e. cleaning up the hospitals.
