Whether you need 'a little something for the weekend' - or a little something to help you recover from the weekend - a late-night chemist can be a godsend.
Here, we draw together the central early-bird pharmacies, and the late-night saviours, on a day-by-day basis.
Sadly, there are no 24-hour chemists in Manchester. If you think you might need emergency care, and there's no chemist open, you are advised to contact NHS Direct or call the 24-hour help-line on: 0845 4647.
Remember, there is always the emergency number 999, for those times when waiting for help is not an option.
Click on the day you require a pharmacy, to be taken to our comprehensive rotas.
If you're looking for a chemist nearer to you, just use the NHS Direct search engine, which uses your postcode to locate healthcare services right where you live.
Any questions on prescription charges at the chemist can be answered here.

The links on this page for days of the week don't work any more. The localisation search it links to is no longer working either, though it shows the search form.
Not much help if you need one in Lowestoft Suffolk
what a pathetic excuse of a country we now live in,I can remember when we used to have a 24 hour chemist in oldham not to many years ago.and most the countries i have visited have 24 hour pharmacies.Tony blair can stick his NHS up his private cared for backside.
Thanks Tony, I'm sure my 8-month pregnant wife will stop crying when I explain that the London Olympic bid is much more important that her well-being and that of my unborn son. Oh, and the millions that you've apparently sunk into the NHS; where have they gone, because it's certainly not into training midwives or maintaining St Mary's. Highest tax buden in the world and the poorest services. Have fun in Iraq.
