OVERJOYED Isabel Wilson celebrated an extra special A level results day - a year after the death of her music mogul father Tony Wilson.
Isabel, 18, studied hard despite her father's increasing ill health and eventual death a year ago on Sunday, and was rewarded with four straight A grades in Latin, biology, chemistry and general studies.
She will now follow her father's dreams for his daughter - and in his footsteps - by studying at Jesus College, Cambridge, reading medicine.
Isabel, a pupil at Withington High School for Girls in Manchester, said the results would have made her famous father proud of her.
"It was a year since he died on Sunday, he went to Jesus College so it was a big deal for me to get in," she said.
"It was his dream for me as well. When I was 13 he took me round to take a look. He just said I would love you to come here. If you work hard enough you have got the brains to do it. It was his dream for me to follow in his footsteps."

Hacienda and Factory Records boss Tony died aged 57 from cancer.
He read English at Cambridge in 1968 before starting his career at Granada Television in Manchester.
Factory Records was the label behind Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays and The Hacienda was one of the most famous clubs in the world.
"He was especially the one I spoke to about the academic side of things," Isabel added. "It's amazing, I really didn't think it was going to happen, I didn't do very well this year. I had a three A offer so I really needed to get it. I can't believe it."

This young lady attained outstanding A Level results in difficult science subjects.
She has been awarded a place at a top 'red brick' on merit!
Also, she achieved and worked through a very distressing period of her life regarding her father the Late 'Tony Wilson'.
Don’t bring politics, class war or anything into this.
She is there on merit, she will study medicine and I am sure she will pass. Which in turn means, we have another doctor which can’t be a bad thing?
And maybe I shouldn’t say it, however, her father has probably paid millions in tax's over the years In my book it places her as a priority (as indeed any British student) over a foreign one!
Get real mate, don’t 'knock' an achiever...........
