Robot's rubbish tips

A RAPPING robot is telling youngsters about the importance of looking after the environment.

Recycler the robot called in at English Martyrs Roman Catholic Primary, in Urmston, on its tour of Trafford schools.

Its song includes the lines: "Listen all you people, listen to what I say, we've all got a problem and it's growing every day. We're making too much rubbish, we're throwing too much away, the piles are getting higher from the things we chuck away."

Recycler's tour is part of the national Recycle Now! campaign funded by environmental activists WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) and Waste Watch, in partnership with Trafford Council.

Waste Watch education officer Shirley Barre, who accompanied the gyrating robot, said: "Recycler tells them what they can do about recycling. The children quickly pick the messages up and join in with his song.

"We hope that they will pass on the important message about reducing, reusing and recycling their rubbish to their parents."

At the end of the performance, the pupils were encouraged to take charge of recycling in their own homes and also given a leaflet for their parents.

why is Recycler attempting to balance a can of tango on that kid's face?

Not entirely sure. I thought all school workers had to avoid direct contact with children, not poke them in the eye with a can.

Surely it should be placed on an android offenders list?
