Inspired by TV shows such as Crime Scene Investigators, Mohammed Imran Hussain, 16, hopes his good GCSE results will help him achieve his goal of becoming a forensic scientist.
The 16-year-old gained A* and A grades in all 11 subjects, including physics and chemistry, after studying at The Grange School, Oldham.
Mohammed said he wanted to use laboratory skills and scientific know-how to tackle crooks - just like in the hit drama shows.
He said: "For the last few years I have watched shows like CSI every day. I have never missed an episode.
"I know the real job isn't like how you seen in television, but being able to look at a crime scientifically would be a good job."
Mohammed, who plays cricket for the school, will now study four A-levels at Oldham Sixth Form College.
