Images of two men wanted over an attack on an RAF veteran have been released by police
Anthony O'Brien, 69, was head-butted as he walked along Sherwood Street in Fallowfield just before Remembrance Sunday.
The pensioner, who was wearing a poppy and his Royal Air Force jacket, was told 'death to all soldiers' moments before he was attacked at around 6pm on November 1.
He noticed two men standing near to the entrance of the Fallowfield Loop, near to the junction of Wellington Road.
One of them shouted an offensive remark about soldiers and, when Anthony replied, he was approached from behind and punched in the head.
He was then head-butted in the face, leaving him with two black eyes and a swollen nose.
The two men escaped on pedal bikes.
The attackers are said to be aged between 17 and 20, Asian or mixed race. One was stocky, 5ft 6 with thin braided hair and was wearing dark clothing.
The second man was chubby, 5ft 4, and had short, shaved, black hair and also wore dark clothing.
Now police have released 'e-fit' images of the two suspects as they made a fresh appeal to the public to catch them.
Pc Michael Seddon said: “This was a mindless and brutal attack on a defenceless man.
“Anthony was left extremely shaken and he is still recovering from his injuries, and during the course of our investigation he was able to describe the suspects to the extent that experts were able to put the following image together.
“Anthony feels that both of these images give an accurate picture of the offenders. We would appeal to anyone who may recognise the faces to get in touch with us.”

Love to see these two idiots take on two 20-odd year old squaddies instead of a man who probably fought so that their families could live (safely) in a democratic country. Hope the gentleman recovers quickly. Mind you, if these two cowards do get caught, they'll probably be out of prison (if they do indeed get sent down) before Mr. O'Brien fully recovers from his ordeal.

What is the point of catching this scum if you dont give the victim "JUSTICE". While we have a weak justice/law system in britain things will only get worse,year on year like the youth crimes have esculated over the years ,they have become more violent .We need real laws and controls of these monsters .This glorious country that our soldiers have given their lives for ,are treated like this.BRING BACK PUBLIC FLOGGING FOR THESE ANIMALS AND SOD THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS.

I would have thought the publisher would want to assist the police in identifying the thugs responsible by showing their images to all including non-readers. This way, there's a greater chance of a passer-by recognising them.

Other religions need to start respecting we are a christian country with christian values. If they don't like that they can use there right to exercise one of our greatest rights as a free country, the right to leave.

Maybe this is a stupid idea i dont know, But can the police not put these images on lamp posts and trees (as they do with accident can you help signs) Im sure these low life's will caught very soon using this method.
