Dick turns to Turtle

ALAN Dick & Co, one of the world's leading specialists in wireless infrastructure, has appointed Turtle Consulting to handle its media relations.

Turtle, which has an office in Manchester, was selected against competition from six other national contenders. Based in Cheltenham, Alan Dick & Co operates worldwide, with offices in 15 countries.

Serco brief

SERCO Group has selected Manchester-based Tangerine PR & Coaching to raise its profile in the north west. Serco, one of the world's largest public service companies, operates in a range of sectors, from education to health, transport and justice.

Clear duo

CLEAR Marketing Communications of Didsbury has recruited Paul Howarth as production manager and Gemma Mitchell as account manager. Paul, 33, was previously with Stuart Lawrence. Gemma, 25, joins from BJL where she was an account executive.

Glossy role

MSN has appointed Justine Blakeman sales executive on their celebrity titles Heat and Closer, and women's glossy, New Woman. Blakeman, previously at IPC Southbank, joins after a two-year career break to start a family.

Art business

DESIGNERS have this week been taking part in Northwest Business and Design Week, a week- long event centred on an exhibition at the Manchester City Art Gallery, ending on Friday, October 10.
