Merger creates £15m property business

A NEW northern property business is to be created, spanning Manchester and Newcastle. Weatherall Green & Smith's Leeds and Manchester offices are merging with the Newcastle, Teesside and London offices of Sanderson Townend & Gilbert.

The merged business, to be called Sanderson Weatheralls, will have an annual turnover of £15m and around 250 staff. The merger takes effect on November 1.

The deal comes weeks after Weatheralls announced the acquisition of fellow surveyors and plant and machinery specialist Singletons, based in Manchester and Blackburn.

Weatheralls traces its origins back to 1833. Singletons was founded in 1922.
