LAW firm James Chapman & Co has teamed up with Britain's top swimmers in a bid to promote the sport.
They are hoping to capitalise on their success at last month's World Championships in Barcelona by raising their profile and attracting sponsors.
Eleven swimmers have signed up with Team H2O, led by Stockport hero James Hickman, who works as a sports consultant at James Chapman, which is based in King Street, Manchester.
The others hoping to make a splash through the venture are James Gibson, Becky Cooke, Graeme Smith, former world record holder Sarah Price, James Goddard, Karen Legg, Darren Mew, Steven Parry, Adrian Turner and Adam Whitehead.
James Hickman said: "Traditionally, swimmers in this country have not been able to command the level of sponsorship that has become common in other sports.
"Yet swimming is the top participation sport in the country, and at the moment our athletes are surging ahead in the international arena.
"There is every chance that, at next year's Olympics, our swimmers will bring home the most medals, and we want to capitalise on this."
Team H2O will offer swimming workshops, demonstrations, talks, endorsements and personal appearances.
James Chapman partner Jason Smith, a specialist in sports law, has been closely involved in the venture.
