Matrix are quick off the mark

PROPERTY investors Matrix was only formed last year, but has completed one of its first deals in double quick time.

In July last year it bought a 3,530-sq m industrial unit at Chester Road. In days, it had agreed that storage group Safestore would take a six-month lease on the building.

In November Matrix agreed to sell the property to developers Amec. The deal was completed just days ago.

Nick Casson of Matrix said: ''The property was brought to us before it went to market, and we were able to make a very quick decision and arrange finances at very short notice.''

Amec has now acquired one of the last major development sites in the growing Southern Gateway business district. Amec's Matt Crompton said: ''This deal gives us an income-producing strategic ownership in one of the last significant development sites within the Southern Gateway area of the city.''
