AN event exploring the way that political web-logging - or blogging - is changing the face of the media will be held at Urbis to coincide with the start of the Labour Party Conference.

Starting at 4pm on Sunday, the free discussion will be moderated by Manchester blogger and freelance journalist Kate Feld, who writes The Manchizzle ( www.manchizzle.blogspot ).

Panelists include Norman Geras, a blogger, author and professor emeritus at Manchester University.

His mostly political blog, Normblog (normblog.typepad.com/normblog/) was voted best UK Blog at the 2005 Weblog awards.

Martin Stabe, an online reporter for The Press Gazette, contributes to the gazette's journalism weblog, Blog Watches Dog ( www.pressgazette.co.uk/dog ), and maintains a blog at www. martinstabe.com. Bill Jones blogs at Skipper ( www.skipper59.blogspot.com ), which covers UK politics, parliament and the press. He lives in Stockport and is a semi-retired lecturer.
