AN innovative local firm has turned to its own backyard for development sites.

Locally-based Prospect (GB) Ltd, one of a handful of commercial developers set up by a housing association, has announced it will focus on the north west to build on its portfolio of commercial and residential properties.

It is seeking land and development opportunities in the region.

Prospect, which has been set up with the backing of the Riverside Group, has already chosen its first commercial site - a 9,920 sq m single storey complex at Crossley Road, Stockport.

MD Chris Heath said: "The north west is seeing the benefits of the UK property boom and is an ideal launch pad for further Prospect developments."
