Fire stations go solar

ATISREAL has been appointed by Lancashire Fire and Rescue to project manage the refurbishment and extension of three Lancashire fire stations, including the country's first solar powered fire station. Two of the stations being extended, Silverdale and Tarlton, are having photovoltaic solar panels installed in order for the stations to run from solar power.

Tower Gate extend reach

TOWER Gate Developments Ltd. has invested into Warrington with the purchase of a recently developed two-storey office building from Prudential. The 5,403 sq. ft. building at Birchwood One, Dewhurst Road, was bought by the developer for around é850,000. Sanderson Weatherall acted for Tower Gate.

Bracken fully let

THE Manchester office of commercial property agent, Eddisons has let the two remaining industrial units on the company's Bracken Trade Park on Dumers Lane, Bury to Safestore IT. The units, which extend to 9,650 sq ft, were let at rents close to é5.50 per sq ft for a term of 15 years - a deal that means the popular industrial development, which is owned by Bracken Limited, is now fully occupied Eddisons worked as joint agents alongside NAI Fuller Peiser.

De Vere expand Village

LAW firm Cobbetts LLP has advised hotel group De Vere on the expansion of its Village hotel brand, with five contracts, representing é100m of development, having already been exchanged and a number of new sites in the pipeline. Cobbetts has previously advised on the new Village hotel acquisitions in Walsall, Hull, Swansea and Bournemouth.

New Senior at Lambert

LAMBERT Smith Hampton's Property Management department has appointed a new Senior Surveyor in Manchester. Jenny Durcan joins the company from property management specialist Workman. Prior to that Jenny was a management surveyor at GVA Grimley and before that Urban Splash, where she worked for over ten years.

Big Storage move in

THE former 50,000 sq ft Worthington Manufacturing site on Fence Avenue, Macclesfield, which was previous used to manufacture lingerie, has been sold to Big Storage in a new, self-storage and business centre venture. The purchaser paid close to the é3.1 million asking. Sole agent to the seller was King Sturge. Law firms Fox Hayes, in Leeds, and Halliwells also advised the sale.

Irlam site for development

CHANCERYGATE Group Limited has acquired a 6.22 acre B1,B2, B8 development site at Fairhills Industrial Park in Irlam for é1.765 million. The site was sold by the Co-Operative Group (CWS) Limited and will be developed out by Chancerygate Group Limited for a Chancerygate Business Centre. Colliers CRE advised Chancerygate.

New recruit at Scanlan's

PROPERTY manager Carlon Stewart is the latest recruit to Stevens Scanlan's property management team in Manchester following a huge increase in the numberof residential developments it now manages. Carlon moves to Stevens Scanlan after four years with a property management company in Salford. Before that he was house manager, then customer services manager, at the Lowry Centre in Salford.

Mutley goes green

ON behalf of its client, Altrincham-based Mutley Properties, WHR Property Consultancy has acquired the ground and first floor of The Green Building - totalling 9,483 sq ft - in Macintosh Village, Manchester for é1.65 million, reflecting a net initial yield of 7.94 per cent.

Pochin's the tonic for Robinson's

POCHIN (Contractors) Ltd, part of the Cheshire based Pochin's plc, has won four pub refurbishment contracts with Robinson's, continuing the company's long-standing relationship with the brewer and pub-chain. Pochin's will be responsible for an é850,000 facelift at The Queen's Arms in Cheadle, among others.

Jubilee for Mistermarble

COLLIERS CRE, acting on behalf of Spencer Commercial Property, has let Unit E at Jubilee Park in Middleton to Mistermarble. Mistermarble has taken the 4,024 sq ft industrial unit on a three year lease at a rent of é4.50 per sq ft, equating to é18,100 per annum. Mistermarble represented itself.
