City agents Roger Hannah & Co has won an award as the region's most active property dealmaker for the second year running.
The accolade comes as the firm signs French furniture company Roche Bobois to anchor the retail scheme at MM2 in Ancoats.
Bobois has taken around half of the 16,000sq ft scheme. This will be the company's first outlet outside London.
Other tenants at the scheme at Great Ancoats Street include Subway, printing.com, snack bar Orb Catering and Allweis, the gift and homeware retailer which is relocating after 50 years in Cheetham Hill.
Head of agency Stuart Cooper said: "By attracting such blue-chip covenants to MM2 it ensures the scheme will be a long-term success, with tenants identifying the MM2 building as being a strategic location within the next growth area of Manchester, in other words Ancoats."
For two years in succession, Roger Hannah & Co has won the `Most Active Agent' award run by a magazine and has recently received its `Most Active Industrial/Distribution Agent in the North West 2005' accolade, and has previously been judged the most active agent in Cheshire.
Mr Cooper said: "These awards are testimony to the continuing expansion of the agency department. It has been somewhat of a natural progression - building on our traditional strongholds in and around Stockport and Oldham.
"Opening the city centre office in Manchester last year has given us the additional presence we needed."
