BEVA secures headquarters
BEVA Investments have completed the investment sale of a new 50,000 sq ft Head Office and production facility to a property fund managed by Modus Properties Ltd. The premises, located in Shadsworth, Blackburn and occupied by Interlink PLC, have been sold for é4.1m, with a net initial yield of 6.4 per cent. Yorkshire Bank funded the development and WHR Property Consultants acted for Beva in the sale.
Surveyor joins property team
THE Manchester office of property specialists Lambert Smith Hampton has recruited another surveyor to its urban regeneration team. Sarah Collins joins the department with wide-ranging experience of urban regeneration in the north west having worked previously at E.C.Harris and Whelan Associates. She studied Urban Development and Policy at the University of the West of England in Bristol before moving north.
Pension rules prompt sale
ELECTRICAL engineering consultancy, Power Technology Systems has just completed the purchase of its own self-contained office building for é840,000 at Prime Figure's Watchgate scheme in Hazel Grove. Chris Brown of selling agents Donaldsons said the sale was driven by new pension rules which came into effect last week.
Discount store gets new home
DISCOUNT retailers Lidl are coming to St Modwen's north City shopping centre at Harpurhey. They will occupy the 13,500 sq ft former Kwik Save unit. Paul Batho, development manager, of St Modwen said: "We welcome Lidl to North City Shopping Centre and believe its strong trading profile will further enhance the attractiveness of the centre to shoppers."
Savills wins award again
SAVILLS' Manchester office has won the `most active north west retail agent of the year' in the Estates Gazette Interactive competition, for the second time. The Manchester office has acted on a large volume of deals in the region in the last 12 months, and has strengthened its retail agency team even further with the acquisition of local retail agents SY Moorhouse Wright last October.
New head for researchers
CUSHMAN & Wakefield has appointed Suzy Blackledge as Senior Researcher to head up its new dedicated north west research department. Suzy will focus on building up the research capability of the locally-based team, which will deliver project specific research and regular, targeted research publications including an annual publication called Marketwatch North West.
Tenants take up Court spots
GREENMOUNT Developments has welcomed a number of new tenants to its Princes Court scheme in Ramsbottom, with over 6,900 sq ft of space let to local businesses in the last month. The mixed-use site, which comprises six new retail units, one restaurant and office accommodation. Letting agents are Nolan Redshaw.
Safety policy is welcomed
PROPERTY professionals Stevens Scanlan have welcomed new regulations which came into force this month designed to cut the number of workers killed or injured on building sites. Tony Mancini, a partner with Stevens Scanlan, says the revised Construction (Design and Management) Regulations will significantly raise health and safety standards in the building industry.
Leadership role for Jon
PROPERTY consultancy EC Harris has promoted Jon Metters to be Area Leader for its Public Sector team across the north west. His team provides expert consultancy services to clients in key areas such as education, local government and health. Prior to joining EC Harris he was Associate Director at Mace.
Contractor's three-year deal
LEGAL and General Assurance Society, advised by DTZ and Eileen Assurance Society, has let 1,830 sq ft at Spencer House, Birchwood in Warrington to logistics contractor, Munnelly Support Services. Munnelly has agreed a three-year lease on the ground floor office accommodation at é12 a sq ft.
