NEWS in brief from the commercial property world.

* ERIC Wright Construction has been awarded a contract by Town Centre Securities plc to build four retail units on Hope Street, Wrexham in a project worth over é2.75m.

The 28,363 sq ft site will house four shop units due for completion in February 2007. The project has already attracted companies including fashion retailers Topshop and furniture specialist Walmsley's.

* BETT Homes is set to prosper in the north west with the appointment of Joanne Spate as its new sales director. She will be responsible for managing the north west's 15-strong sales department and ensuring that the housebuilder - part of the Gladedale Group - exceeds its annual completions targets.

* THE Manchester office of property specialists Lambert Smith Hampton has recruited another surveyor to its urban regeneration team. Sarah Collins worked previously at E.C.Harris and Whelan Associates.
