THE deadline is approaching for companies to enter The Queen's Awards for Enterprise.
The awards recognise outstanding achievements in international trade, innovation and sustainble development - and size doesn't matter.
The closing date is October 31 and the winners will be announced on the Queen's birthday next April.
Fourteen north west firms won awards this year - the highest total since 1997. Among the victors were iSOFT, Medeval and Pama.
David Moore, the awards scheme's secretary, said: "The north west has long been famous for its industrial and commercial achievements.
"Any firm of merit can enter, and size is irrelevant. Nearly a third of the 2002 winners have fewer than 50 employees."
