The group said trading in its home market was "developing in line with our expectations" but the state education sector remained the most testing as clients came under pressure to overhaul school menus.
Compass, which is based in Chertsey, Surrey, offered investors some encouragement by revealing that group-wide trading had been in line with expectations in the six months to March 31.
It also said it remained on course to sell its Upper Crust-to-Harry Ramsden travel business by the middle of the year. Tweet
