MANCHESTER law firm Kuit Steinart Levy has pulled off a coup by recruiting licensing experts from Addleshaw Booth and Co against stiff competition.
Anthony Lyons and Steven Reynolds will join on October 7.
They will bring with them their burgeoning north west and UK-wide client portfolio, which includes Tameside-based Revolution vodka bars operator Inventive Leisure, the Noble House Pub Company, City Centre Restaurants and Asda supermarkets.
Their move follows Addleshaw Booth's decision to withdraw from licensing work.
Kuits' executive partner Robert Levy said: "We are obviously delighted to have attracted Anthony and Steven to the firm against significant competition.
"Both are highly regarded within their field, and retain an extremely impressive list of clients.
"These new appointments are pivotal to the expansion of Kuits, and represent a significant strategic move for the firm, as we accelerate the growth of the team and the breadth of services we provide."
Opportunity
Anthony said: "This is a superb opportunity to develop a new department at Kuits, and a move about which we feel extremely excited.
"We are confident our clients will benefit from the business culture at Kuits, and believe the firm's existing clients will receive added value through the new expertise we will bring to the team."
Addleshaw Booth senior partner Paul Lee said: "We are grateful for the contribution which Anthony and his team have made, and we wish them every success at their new firm."
The Addleshaw team under Anthony's leadership built a strong practice, especially in the pub and nightclub sectors.
It also played a major role in the run-up to the Commonwealth Games, which Addleshaw Booth sponsored, having applied for special late licences for many clients.
Meanwhile, Kuits has further boosted its ranks by recruiting 41-year-old David Haffner as a commercial property partner. He has moved from Lopian Wagner, where he was an equity partner.
The appointments take the number of partners at Kuits to 17 and the number of fee earners to 42. Tweet
