In a well-attended event at Lancashire Cricket Club, a range of issues were debated including physical activity opportunities in the workplace, the opportunities for the region arising from the 2012 Olympics in London, and the creation of a National Sports Foundation to explore opportunities for investments into grassroots sport.
The debate was chaired by Ian Austin, the managing partner of Halliwells, which has its main office in Manchester city centre.
He said: "Businesses throughout the north west have a duty to help the North West Sports Board deliver the regional plan for sport and physical activity." Tweet
