Welcome to the tenth Manchester Evening News Business of the Year awards, launched to recognise excellence in our regional companies, from the very large to smaller companies, across all sectors.

Past winners have ranged from big players Manchester United, Airtours and N Brown to the small, including family-run Burns Open Systems and property developer Urban Splash.

The Business of the Year prizes are awarded to a winner in each of these categories:

• Companies with turnover of over é50m
• Companies with turnover between é10m & é50m
• Companies with turnover of under é10m
• Customer Service
• Young Business of the Year

The Customer Service award will recognise a company that can demonstrate to have gone the 'extra mile' in providing outstanding service to one or more customers.

The Young Business of the Year award will be a company within the M.E.N. circulation area which has got off to a flying start, having been founded three years ago or less. We are looking for the bright young things of the Manchester business world.
