Pochin piles on profits

CHESHIRE-based contractor and developer Pochin has reported turnover up 45.8 per cent on last year, and increased profits up by 14 per cent to £5.8m over the year.

In a board restructure, John Edwards has been appointed group finance director and company secretary while Michael Chadwick and Nicholas Fry become non- executive directors.

Prize two

THE Hurstwood Group, has been named Business of the Year by the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. The announcement comes just weeks after chairman Stephen J Ashworth was named young director of the year for Lancashire by the Institute of Directors.

MATTHEWS & Goodman has secured two lettings at Brook House, Spring Gardens. Relocation specialist Go Native has taken 900 sq ft, while existing occupier Berry, Birch & Noble has extended its current space to 1,800 sq ft.

Tesco first

TESCO has opened its 30,000-sq ft Homeplus store at the 285,000-sq ft Crownpoint Shopping Park, Denton. The non-food store is a first for Tesco.
