NICHOLAS Willetts, Paul Burney, Katherine Steel, Paul Dorrian, Earle Brady, Richard Chandler and Rebecca Moore, of Addleshaw Goddard Solicitors, advised Royal Bank of Scotland on a £190m refinancing deal for Manchester-based student accommodation provider Opal Property Group.

TONY Brook, of Nexus Solicitors, acted for SMG (Europe) on a deal with Frank Warren's Sports Network over boxing promotions at the Manchester Evening News Arena. SMG (Europe), which manages the venue, has struck an agreement which runs until the end of 2006 and allows Sports Network to be the Arena's exclusive boxing promoter.

PAUL Lupton led a team at Gorvins Solicitors, Stockport, who acted for chemicals firm Dishman Europe over its acquisition of technology from C6 Solutions, of Castleford, West Yorkshire. C6 was previously part of the Hickson & Welch group. The Gorvins team included Christian Mancier, Meredith Hurst and Helen O'Neill.
