City's canal shops plan

URBAN regeneration specialist Centros Miller has been granted preferred developer status by Lancaster city council for a new traditional city shopping-led scheme.

The 10-acre site, known as the Canal Corridor North, principally owned by the council and Mitchell's Pub Co, has been identified for an extension to the city's retail and leisure amenities.

Double deal

ASHBURTON Point has secured its first two deals with a further five in solicitors' hands. United Utilities Networks has agreed a 10-year lease for Unit D ' an 11,084-sq ft self- contained unit with private yard area ' at '5.50 per sq ft.

AK Plant Hire is set to occupy Unit H1 ' a 7,012-sq ft unit on a ten-year lease at '6.25 per sq ft.

Allied tour

ALLIED London is to hold an open day at its Spinningfield development, Deansgate, to co-ordinate with architecture week.

On June 23, architects Sheppard Robson and Denton Corker Marshall will be hosting a series of talks as well as giving tours of the buildings developed to date.
