Commercial property news in brief

Pitfalls and posers

MANCHESTER law firm Rowe Cohen has launched a new service for fledgling developers.

Partner Anthony Sacks said: "People from all kinds of backgrounds try their hand at property development but too many think it's as simple as it appears on TV shows.

"This new service should help investors by making sure they are aware of all the problems and pitfalls."

Docks role

ARROWCROFT Group has appointed DTZ Debenham Tie Leung as leasing agent for retail and leisure at Albert Dock in Liverpool.

The complex is the country's largest group of Grade 1 Listed buildings, transformed over the past 20 years into a 1.25m-sq ft complex, incorporating residential, retail, leisure, hotels and museums.

Leyland plan

THE Hurstwood Group, based in Rossendale and Preston, has bought a six-acre site capable of accommodating 110,000 sq ft at Centurion Park, Leyland.

Hurstwood has submitted a planning application for a '7m range of units from 2,800 sq ft to 23,000 sq ft. It is in negotiation with one prospective tenant.
