Property services firm DTZ has appointed surveyor Simon Roddam to its Manchester-based office agency team.

He has joined from BE Group in Warrington, where he worked for six years. He will undertake disposals and acquisitions for DTZ clients including Bruntwood, Urban Splash and Orbit Developments.

Public relations firm Weber Shandwick has appointed Sarah Twyman as account director in Manchester. Sarah, 32, joins form The Red Consultancy. In her new role she will work on accounts including Aldi, Liverpool ONE, Holiday Inn and The Midland Hotel.

Fida Hussain, 45, has hit the ground running in his new role as an external funding officer for arms-length management organisation Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, which manages council homes for Rochdale Council. He has already secured more than £48,000 from sources including BT and Jobcentre Plus.

Training provider Alliance Learning, which has its head office in Horwich, near Bolton, and centres in Leigh and Radcliffe, has appointed Paul Taylor as chairman to support its development. Mr Taylor is managing director of Bolton-based hydraulics business Hyquip. He graduated from Alliance Learning in 1989 with an advanced apprenticeship in engineering. He joined Alliance Learning's board in 2005.

Ashcourt Rowan, the wealth management arm of Syndicate Asset Management – has appointed Steve Daykin as its northern regional director, based in Manchester. Ashcourt Rowan’s funds under management have reached £3.5bn. It has offices in the Midlands and the north west and is looking to expand in both regions.

Manchester-based provider of recruitment, training and consultancy services, The Resource People, has appointed Darren Carter as director – recruitment services. Darren joins the business following an 18-year career in the industry.

David Hodgson has been appointed sales director at housebuilder Persimmon Homes North West, which is based in Urmston. He has 24 years of sales experience and has moved from Persimmon’s operations in Peterborough.
