Clippy's Apples, which supplies conserves, jellies and relishes, has secured a deal with Asda for a listing in nearly 100 stores across the north west.  The Sale-based firm, founded in 2008 by Michelle McKenna and her partner Paul Gorman, will have six savoury lines on sale including apple, tomato and roasted garlic relish and chilli jelly. Later this month, several Clippy's products will go on sale in Booths stores.

Motorway services, hospitality and leisure group Westmorland is investing in retail software supplied by Stockport's Business Computer Projects. The technology will be installed in phases at Westmorland sites including the Rheged visitor centre near Penrith, Tebay services on the M6 and the group's head office at Tebay.

Telecoms firm Unicom, which has its headquarters in Northenden, Manchester, has opened an office in Kirkcaldy, Fife, as it looks to expand its customer base. Unicom aims to create at least 30 jobs at the branch over the next 12 months.

Property firms Belfry Group and New Charter Building Company have formed a business alliance. Belfry, which is based at Winwick Quay, Warrington, provides building, maintenance, security and cleaning services. New Charter Building Company is part of the New Charter Housing Trust Group, which has its headquarters in Ashton under Lyne. The link-up will see the outfits work together to jointly tender for projects.

The Football League has awarded a contract to business communications specialist ConvergeOne, which is based at MediaCity UK in Salford Quays. ConvergeOne will provide its Cisco-based IT platform for the League's networks.

Manufacturing group Excelsior, based in Bury, has secured overseas orders worth £75,000 for its equestrian products subsidiary Classic Showjumps, which it bought in February last year. The orders have come through distributors in Europe and the Middle East, secured with support from UK Trade and Investment.

Safety seal firm Roxtec, based in Bury, has completed an 18-month project to install seals to protect cables at a substation serving an offshore wind farm being built in the Irish Sea off Barrow. The Ormonde wind farm, designed and constructed by renewable energy firm Areva, is due to be completed later this year.
