Fairhursts refurb

FAIRHURSTS Design Group has completed the John Dalton Tower for Manchester Metropolitan University.

The '24m project involved refurbishing an existing 1960s building to provide an eight-storey mixed science teaching and research building with laboratories and three floors of free, deep-plan lab space over 100,000 sq ft.

Towers buy

TWO redundant 1960s residential tower blocks at Willow Park, Wythenshawe, have been acquired by Redman Heenan Properties, the investmet subsidiary of St Modwen Properties, as part of its regeneration of Wythenshawe.

The two-acre site, formerly owned by Willow Park Housing, will be used for the next phase of redevelopment of Wythenshawe Civic Centre.
