The Newcastle upon Tyne headquartered consultancy has hired Oliver Chesher to establish the operation which is based within Cuckoo Design's offices on Chapel Street, Salford.
He is now recruiting both clients and staff and says that he would like to see a Manchester operation staffed by as many as five people by the end of the year.
“I have a raft of potential clients in the pipeline and I am already making significant inroads within the education sector,” he added.
Mr Chesher has joined Admiral from GyroHSR where he was a PR director handling UK and international business-to-business accounts, most notably for education and publishing giant Pearson.
He has more than ten years' specialist agency experience with clients in sectors including education, technology, sport and fitness, automotive, environmental and construction.
He said: “Having worked largely with clients outside the region for the past five years, I am excited to be back as part of the North West’s PR scene.
“There is clearly a lot of opportunity here, and a lot of healthy competition for PR business, but I am certain that we can grow Admiral into a significant player in Manchester.”
Mr Chesher was hired by Georgie Cameron, Admiral’s founder and managing director.
She added: “It is an exciting time to be part of Admiral: we are on a winning streak, both with new client business and industry awards, and have recently expanded into London as well as Manchester.
“We are confident that Oliver will play a leading role in the continued growth and success of this agency.”
Admiral has 15 full-time staff working nationally, each of whom spend time in each of the company's offices, depending on the accounts on which they are working at any given time.
Established in 2000, Admiral has a national focus and works predominantly in the six key sectors of education, enterprise, science and technology, healthcare, natural and built environement, professional services and tourism.
