DVLA drive into Oldham
GLADMAN Develop- ments has signed up the DVLA for the pre-let of a 2,000-sq ft office unit to house a new driving test theory centre - the first tenant at Gladman's speculative development, Southlink Business Park, Mumps, Oldham. Whitney Court is a '4.5m office scheme totalling 35,000 sq ft and expected to help create more than 350 new jobs.
Chester rush
CHESTER-based Liberty Properties plc, the firm behind the proposed '50m leisure, office and residential complex on the site of the former Cheshire Constabulary HQ in Chester, says it has been inundated with calls from prospective tenants and buyers.
Reid move
TREVOR Reid has resigned from NHR consultant surveyors, formerly of King Street, and formed Cranereid Property and Development Consultants. Reid was head of retail and leisure for Matthews and Goodman, Manchester.
Methodist buy
PHIL Manson of Stevens Scanlan acted for Manchester Methodist Housing Group in its '3.2m acquisition of offices at Southern Gate, Parkway. Vendor of the 10,642-sq ft three-storey building was Norwich Property Trust Ltd.
