Location holds back firms

ONE in five businesses says its premises or location is holding it back, according to research from HSBC Bank. Retailers (30 per cent) and manufacturers (24 per cent) are most concerned about their location, because of the importance of footfall, access to markets and transport links.


Cheadle sale

KEY Property Investments, the joint venture between St Modwen Properties and Salhia Real Estate Co., has sold Rectory Gardens, a mixed-use property in Cheadle town centre, Greater Manchester, to Roman Lodge Holdings for '1.3m.The sale price reflects an initial yield of 6.8 per cent. The seller was advised by Morgan Williams of Warrington.


Enter Zest

THE fifth phase is nearing completion at the Embankment Business Park, Business Homes North's development in Heaton Mersey, Stockport. The end of construction work coincides with the arrival of another new occupier - energy supplier Zest 4, which has signed for 288 sq m.


Park start

REGENERATION minister Keith Hill opened work on the '18m One Central Park development in New East Manchester. The 11,000-sq m building, designed by Aedas Architects and constructed by Bowmer and Kirkland, will become the educational hub of Central Park - the UK's first large-scale, mixed-use urban business park being developed by Ask Akeler.
