Rent review dispute

THE government's efforts to stop upward-only rent review clauses in leases are misguided, Michael Mercer, director at surveyors CB Richard Ellis, has claimed.

"Upward-only reviews underpin a significant element of the value of commercial property and its attractiveness to institutional investors. Removing them, makes investing in property at current levels less attractive," he said.
